Reasonably Religious: believing in a secular world 
Sometimes we hope for a solution before we take action ourselves, but practice often teaches a different lesson. This weekend I discovered again that the path only opens when we are sincerely willing to fulfill our duty. Faith is not a passive insurance, but an active circle in which our willingness to act clears the way for the support we need.
True growth only occurs when we have the freedom to make our own choices and experience their consequences, even if they are painful. God does not act as a wish fulfiller who takes away all misery, but as a source of inexhaustible strength that helps us turn every challenge into progress.
