This country is being destroyed by collective selfishness

D

EgoïsmeCollective egoism, in my opinion, is the superlative of individualism. A  healthy portion of selfishness or individualism is good. You have none  We without  I. But I'm afraid there's only one left  I is.

Sometimes it is glossed over as the NIMBY syndrome  Not In My Back Yard. It's allowed everywhere, but not in my neighborhood.

A good example of this is the issue surrounding green energy. We all want a better environment, because healthier is for the  I. But it is allowed  I no costs. Or cause a nuisance. Windmills are great, but they are not allowed anywhere  I am bothered by it. But they certainly have to be there. Solar panels are also great for green energy, but...  I don't want to pay for it.

Everyone realizes that our social security will explode if nothing happens. The long-term sick and the perpetually unemployed must certainly be tackled. But  I not if I call in sick for a few weeks so I can get some fresh air by the sea.  I I am certainly not unemployed for no reason  I choose to stay at home for a few years to care for the children. That one  other, yes, that's a profiteer, but  I I'm certainly not.

Everyone has to work longer, but every  I has a tough job himself. Working longer is for others, but not for  I. I I am entitled to retire at 55 and preferably with certainty of an extensive pension.

Unions once fought for social improvement, for the collective good. Now trade unions are the unions of collective egoism. Everyone has to give up, but  I certainly not.  I I am entitled to retain all acquired rights, even if it concerns recovery of days not worked.

This country is built on layers upon layers of acquired rights that have none  I still wants to hand over. This layered mentality creates a lasagna of costs that explain why our country has 54% government expenditure, but on the other hand has to save on essential core tasks such as education, public transport or the prison system.

But the strike is not to make things better, but to preserve individual rights. Guards are striking because they would rather not work more efficiently, but would rather keep more people working during the night, because then it is easy to work for extra night bonuses. Railway employees are on strike because they want to be compensated for working 36 hours a week by numerous bonuses and extra recovery days, even recovery for days off.

I could go on for a long time, but as long as trade unions are only trade unions of collective egoism and do not start acting from solidarity again, this country will be destroyed by strikes. Then they can continue to criticize the people who have capital, but those people will have long since left for other places. Those left behind are the masses  selves who will suddenly wake up in a country where theyIhave more.
