The Mormon Closet: Mormon podcast

D
De Kast van Mormon: mormoonse podcastTogether with one of my best mates Kevin, I started a new missionary project a few weeks ago, namely making a Mormon podcast. For those who a podcast do not know: it is a kind of radio broadcast via the internet that you can listen to whenever you want ('on demand').
The broadcasts are always about certain news from the Mormon community or where Mormons are involved, but we also address questions from non-members and provide specific clarification for people who do not yet know our church or the Mormons.

Our goal is not to convert people, but to make more honest information about our church known. To be a resource for those who have questions about Mormonism. But especially to counteract incorrect information. I know few churches that generate as much opposition as our church.
If you Google something online about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you will more often find incorrect information from our opponents than honest and correct information. Also on difficult topics. Who knows, we might even interview people who are less inclined towards our church.
And since people nowadays prefer to read less and we have too little visual information to make YouTube videos of it every time, a podcast seemed to us the most appropriate way.
At the moment I am writing this blog, we already have three episodes online. The latest is a very nice one with, among other things, an interview with our mission president and his wife. Previously, we discussed questions such as "Do Mormons form a cult?" and "how many wives do Mormons have?".
PodcastYou can listen to the broadcasts online via our website. There is also a link to various apps with which you can listen to podcasts on your smartphone or tablet. The advantage of using an app is that you are automatically notified when a new episode is available. But for those who prefer to be notified traditionally, there is also this link to subscribe for automatic email notifications when a new episode comes online.
There is also a Facebook page where we bring extra news or background information. You can click 'like' there to stay informed.
We hope to reach as many members as non-members with this. So do not hesitate to make us known to your friends via your social media or via handout cards you can get from brother Verdegem or me.
We also like to listen to your questions and suggestions. If you have good ideas to discuss during a broadcast or if you want to collaborate, do not hesitate to contact us.
